Kaybreigh Waldon, Reporter
As the teacher talks, Kaybreigh Waldon, 8th, writes “Hello Kitty” on her hand as her mind wanders.
A flaw Kaybriegh would like to eliminate is being late to school.
“My attendance should be healthy,” Kaybriegh said.
The bravest thing Kaybreigh ever did was ride her brother Zachariah’s dirt bike.
“It looked fun, and I went full throttle,” Kaybreigh said. “I was close to wrecking, but I didn’t.”
Something Kaybreigh would like to do is fly first class because it sounds fun.
“I would also like to dance because my aunt liked to, and we had many things in common,” Kaybreigh said.
Speaking of family, Kaybreigh likes having siblings, especially her older sister Rylee.
“They can make you happy when you are not in the mood,” Kaybreigh said. “A great memory was when me and my siblings and family all had a get together because it was a good memory to cherish.”
Kaybreigh’s Aunt Shiloh is important to her.
“She influenced me to be successful and caring in life, and I am going to follow in her footsteps,” Kaybreigh said.
Kaybreigh’s best friend is Nadina Elliott.
“She is very sweet and cheers me up when I am upset,” Kaybreigh said. “My friends are so important that I would swim across the sea for them.”
Nadina’s first impression of Kaybreigh was that she’s always been super high-energy and sweet.
“My favorite moment with Kaybreigh would be talking, spilling the tea, and walking around with her at school,” Nadina said. “She’s super honest, but in a nice way. Kaybreigh is always going to stand up for the people she loves and will be there when needed.”

Wendi Mejia Beltran, Reporter
Wendy Mejia Beltran, 8th, demonstrates kindness and joy and has a great passion for everything she does.
Wendy would describe herself as a quiet person.
“I don't really talk to a lot of people,” Wendi said.
Wendy's best friends are Selisica Jimenez and Miriany Recinos.
"I have a very special bond with both of them,” Wendi said.
Volleyball is Wendi’s favorite sport.
“It's a very entertaining game to play,” Wendi said.
Wendi’s best memory with her family was when her mom and her dad were still together.
“We went to see the fireworks for 4th of July at the beach,” Wendi said. "After they split up, a big challenge for me was that everywhere I went, I would see a little girl with the dad holding one of his daughter's hands and the mom holding the other one. She would be in the back just looking up at them."
Wendy gets along with her older brother Christian the best.
“He makes me smile when I would be at my lowest,” Wendi said.
Of the places she has lived, Wendi liked Connecticut the best.
“I was near a beach and would always go there on the weekends,” Wendi said.
Traveling from Fort Smith to Connecticut with her younger cousin is Wendi’s best experience.
“All we did was laugh and talk about the most random things,” Wendi said. “My worst travel experience was from New York to Fort Smith because I felt so nauseous and just not okay and my whole body was hurting.”
Wendi would love to travel to Guatemala.
“That is where most of my family is,” Wendi said.
Friend Miriany Recinos’s first impression of Wendi was that she was easy to talk to.
“Wendi was also very kind and caring, even though we had just met,” Miriany said. “My favorite memory was when we bought a gift for our friend together because we had a lot of fun picking it out.”
Miriany appreciates Wendi’s friendship.
“I like how understanding and humorous Wendi can be,” Miriany said. “She always finds a way to make it a good day.”
Catherine Monterrosa’s first impression of Wendi was that she looked like a really nice person.
“One time when I couldn’t see the board, Wendi gave me the notes, so I could write it down,” Catherine said. “My favorite memory is when we went to the mall. The entire time, Wendi made us laugh and have a good time.”
Like Miriany, Catherine also values Wendi’s friendship.
“Wendi will always be there for me to make me laugh or just make me feel better,” Catherine said.

Charlotte Marr, Reporter
Back in 6th grade, Charlotte Marr dyed her hair black and sulked around. Now in 8th grade, she is back to being a bubbly blonde.
“I used to be so emo,” Charlotte said. “It was so bad.”
A flaw Charlotte would like to eliminate about herself is over explaining things.
“I talk too much,” Charlotte said.
If she could do anything, Charlotte would like to travel the world.
“The world is very pretty and who wouldn't want to see it?” Charlotte said. “I would also buy my niece a car when she’s old enough because I wanna watch her face light up.”
Friends are important to Charlotte. On a scale of 1-10, she would rate the importance of friendship a ten.
A great memory she has with her friend group is when they went to MLK Park to hang out and set off fireworks on the 4th of July.
“I had set one off and thought it was just supposed to spin,” Charlotte said. “When I did it the first time, it didn’t go up on concrete, so I set it up on the grass with trees, and it went up and almost set the tree on fire! Then everyone kept calling me a blonde.”
Oscar Perez, 8th, is Charlotte’s best friend.
“He's the best person I know, and we better each other when we need to,” Charlotte said.
Oscar’s first impression of Charlotte was that she seemed like a kind and welcoming soul.
“My favorite memory is when we went to the store to buy brownie mix and made a mess in my kitchen; yet, we made the perfect brownies,” Oscar said. “What makes Charlotte a good friend is she listens, is always there for you, and is fun to be around.”
Jaasiel Hernandez also finds Charlotte to be a loyal friend.
“Charlotte is funny, energetic, and just always in a good mood,” Jaasiel said.
Allison Ritchie’s favorite memory with Charlotte was when they barked at cars for fun.
“She listens to me when we talk and is there for me when I’m sad,” Allison said. “She's funny, so + 10 points.”

Deacon Smith, Reporter
Deacon Smith, 8th, walks into class with a smile on his face making everybody laugh. The teacher redirects him for interrupting the lesson.
Deacon would describe himself as kind.
“I do charity work by feeding the homeless,” Deacon said.
Deacon’s best strength is helping clean his room and around the house.
“Cleaning helps me concentrate on stuff,” Deacon said.
Deacon’s flaw he would like to eliminate is arguing.
“Arguing causes a problem and doesn't solve anything,” Deacon said.
Deacon’s mom is important to him because she influenced him to do his work.
“She gives good advice and buys me things,” Deacon said.
As for the rest of his family, Deacon believes he is different.
“I look and like different things because I'm blasian,” Deacon said.
Basketball is Deacon’s favorite sport because it requires athleticism.
“I also like football because I can run and throw the ball,” Deacon said.

Jacqueline Espinoza, Reporter
Before class begins, Jacqueline Espinoza, 8th, searches Pinterest for more ideas on eternal flowers and her next nail set.
A flaw Jacqueline would like to eliminate is spending too much time on social media.
“I don’t get things done,” Jacqueline said.
Before she dies, Jacqueline wants to travel the world.
“I would also like to go skydiving because you only live once, and it seems like fun,” Jacqueline said.
A surprising fact about Jacqueline is that she knows how to cook.
“I like to cook all kinds of foods such as soup and fried chicken,” Jacqueline said.
Somebody important to Jacquleine is her older brother.
“My older brother influenced me to be myself and not care what others think,” Jacqueline said.
The best advice Jacqueline has ever received came from her mom who encouraged her to not give up on her dreams.
“This was valuable because I didn’t know if my dreams could ever really come true,” Jacqueline said.
The biggest challenge for Jacqueline while growing up in her family was being the only daughter.
“My family is more protective of me,” Jacqueline said. “My best friend is my older brother because he helps me out a lot and prepares me for life.”
Jaqueline values her friends.
“They are important to me because they help me out and they're there for me,” Jacqueline said.
A great memory Jacqueline had with her friends was going to the park.
“We talked a lot and played around on the equipment,” Jacqueline said.
Friend Ashley Morales’s first impression of Jacqueline was how kind she is.
“Jacqueline checks up on people, shares her things, and motivates me and others,” Ashley said. “My best moment with Jacqueline was when we went to the Fair together. It was so fun because we walked around and talked about many things. She even bought me food, and we got on so many rides. Jacqueline is also funny and kind!”
Nathalie Garcia first noticed how shy Jacqueline can be.
"We didn't talk much, which made it awkward, but now we talk more and are good friends," Nathalie said. "She gives advice, helps others, and is a caring person."
