Boonk Influences Teens, Gets Arrested

Imagine walking down the hallway when someone grabs your phone, yells “BOONK GANG!” and takes off. Social media star and rapper Boonk has started a new trend of committing crimes like stealing anything from fast food to Rolex watches and yelling “Boonk Gang” while running away. John Robert Hill Jr. (aka Boonk), who lives in South Florida, is known for his face tattoos, cussing, and posting his stunts on Instagram. In January 2017, he launched his own YouTube channel “BoonkTv,” which now has 36k+ subscribers. He also has 3.2 million followers on Instagram.

Boonk makes videos about his life adventures, such as stealing a whole cookie case from Subway or getting places by riding on top of cars for “free rides.” His videos have over a million views. Boonk’s official song “Muttin'” has been viewed 2.7 million times on YouTube. Other popular songs include “On ‘Em” and ‘Back Den,” both of which were produced by DeeMoney.

So far Boonk has been arrested four times, once for jumping over the counter at Dunkin’ Donuts and stealing a tray of donuts. The most recent arrest was for assaulting a Carl’s Junior drive-thru attendant in California.
