A very shy, quiet book lover, Hali Newman, 8th, does not stand out from the crowd. If anything, Hali blends well in the shadows.
"Not only is Hali shy and quiet, she's very trustworthy," Araceli Garcia, 8th, said. "If I tell her something personal, I know she won't tell anybody."
Hali may not be the person yelling random things down the hall because she needs a period of adjustment.
"I'm not always quiet," Hali said. "I just have to know you well to get out of my comfort zone."
Even though Hali has lived in Ft.Smith all her life, she does plan to travel.
"I'd like to go to California to see my dad," Hali said. "I miss him terribly."
