America Cruz, 8th, read fifteen books in just five weeks and did something similar in 7th grade!
"I like to read, especially science fiction and books about magic such as The Hobbit, because it takes me to a whole new universe," America said. "It shows how I dream big."
Other than reading, America enjoys spending time with friends.
"My best friend is Yoselin Cardenas because we have been best friends since fourth grade and have become like sisters," America said.
Sydney Du shares her view of sisterhood.
"She genuinely cares about me and all her other friends too," Sydney said.
America's friends say there is another side to her besides being smart.
"One time when we were eating lunch, we were laughing so hard that milk was going down America's nose," Jovana Araujo, 8th, said.
