Focus on the Positive

In Mary Schmich’s column “Wear Sunscreen,” she gives the following advice: “Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.” Life is like a dozen roses — it may smell amazing and make people smile, but life doesn’t happen twelve times. Everything goes away, and the roses die. Imagine the roses as negative comments that hurts until everything fades and wilts.

Through this process, you will understand that everything comes and goes, but you will be okay because it all stops. The pain and hurt, the worrying, you will get your roses back. You will live day to day with happiness. Enjoy those roses as long as you can.
