TV Show Review: Riverdale

The CW television show Riverdale is about the death of the rich and popular Jason Blossom in the small, secretive town of Riverdale. Originally a light-hearted 1940s Archie Comic, Riverdale focuses on teenagers Archie Andrews (K.J. Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendez), and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). These teens deal with relatable issues like rumors, strict parents, and questioning their futures. The big issue, however, is who murdered Jason Blossom. Until that’s solved, everyone is a suspect. The Riverdale authorities are no help in finding the killer, so the teens take the matter into their own hands.

Riverdale shows a variety of costuming and makeup. Archie, a popular jock, always wears a letterman’s jacket and perfectly messy hair. Betty, a preppy girl, has her hair in a tight ponytail and light makeup to compliment her fair skin.

K.J. Apa brings Archie to life with each emotion he displays. Reinhart does the same with Betty, the perfect girl with a secret dark side. Reinhart is a very talented actress who can make Betty go from sweet and caring to angry and upset in the blink of an eye.
