Southside High School Changes Mascot
A committee voted to change Southside High School’s mascot from the Rebels to the Mavericks. People had thought the Rebel mascot was offensive and racist. Southside should not have had to change its mascot over other people’s personal opinions. If Southside were so racist, then why didn’t people try to change the mascot a long time ago?

Good point, but a long time ago, the only thing that was considered racist was Whites/Caucasians vs Blacks/African Americans. Not like today, now there are Asians, American Indian, Hispanics, etc.
