Quarterback Ronin Ketchum took the snap, scanned the defense, and dropped back into the pocket. Taking his chance, he threw the football to wide receiver Jayden Charles. Running with speed and agility, Jayden gained additional yards while evading Lakeside defenders. Crossing the end zone, Jayden scored a touchdown, and the fans cheered.
Jacob Harris helped the scout team work hard and keep the mindset to never stop fighting.
“One of the best moments was when we blew Darby out because they are our rivals,” Jacob said.
Jamarious Johnson also loved beating Darby.
“I got a Pick Six, scored, and celebrated with my friends,” Jamarious said.
Jayden Garcia enjoyed the Darby win because the team was hyped up and motivated. He believed the team kept going after getting defeated because of the coaches.
“They made sure that we kept our heads up, and my teammates made sure that we put up a fight during the games,” Jayden said.
Lamont Dunson agreed with Jayden.
“With the coaches lifting us up, we had hope,” Lamont said.
Brean Frias preferred the win over Oakdale.
“I kicked the ball to the endzone on kickoff,” Brean said. “We kept going due to that drive we all had inside of us to win.”
Anthony Palacios Jaramillo felt the team had good chemistry.
“We never gave up and kept trying,” Anthony said.
Mark Barroso connected with his teammates, especially when they felt discouraged.
“We stuck together, and everyone else had each other’s backs when we needed it,” Mark said.
Coach Jenkins appreciated his players’ efforts.
“I was very proud of how hard the kids worked every single day and became better football players,” Coach Jenkins said. “I cannot wait to see what they accomplish at Northside in the years to come.”
