Secret Admirer
I walked passed him. His eyes were like watery diamonds, and he smelled like fresh laundry. I knew I could not hold back. My mind danced, twirled, and spun. The day I saw him cry, I felt sad and as lonely as an abandoned dog on the street. I knew I couldn’t do anything because I did not have his heart. He had given it to another. My own heart cracked when I saw him. I whispered “goodbye” to myself as I passed him. Tears ran down the side of my face. I knew it was too late. If only he knew what I saw in him.
