Series Review: Cursed
I love Netflix’s fantasy series Cursed. Nimue (played by Katherine Langford) has powers that make her an outcast, but her sword will make her a queen. Nimue embarks on a journey through death, loss, love, and friendship as she tries to save the Fey from the Red Paladins who intend to erase them from existence. To use her powers to manipulate the Earth, Nimue must be in the woods or somewhere with grass and trees. In villages like Gramaire or Hawksbridge, the only power Nimue has is the Hidden.
Langford is a great actress and what she says and does looks and feels real. I would definitely watch another movie or series starring her. I’ve seen her in Love Simon, Knives Out, and Thirteen Reasons Why.
The cinematography is impressive. Since the show is set in medieval times, series director Zetna Fuentes brings the setting of medieval times to life by filming in England where there are a lot of medieval buildings. I give the special effects used to demonstrate Nimue’s powers a five out of five.
