Netflix Series Review: Ginny and Georgia

The Netflix series Ginny and Georgia is about a single mother and her two kids (Ginny and Austin) trying to settle in a New England town after the sudden death of her most recent husband. The show will definitely keep you guessing, with a lot of “UUGGHH” moments.

The problems in the show can be very relatable. It’s not easy starting over, especially in a town where you don’t know anyone. However, it is nice to have a fresh start. Sometimes I’m so into the show, I forget it’s not real, and I get really anxious or mad because of what’s happening. It’s so believable because of how attached the characters seem.

I enjoy the spectacular acting by Brianne Howey as Georgia. The funny dialogue and subliminal messages also makes the show interesting, such as when Georgia jokes with her boss, Mayor Porter. Georgia’s southern accent when she makes snide comments at the other moms makes it a trillion times better. Plus, when Ginny, 15, tries to make herself seem like an adult, she has no clue what she was talking about so her resulting embarrassment is hysterical. Sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s just a show because Ginny makes me so mad when she does literally anything. For example, I felt so bad for Georgia when Ginny constantly nagged about everything her mom does. It really aggravated me! The emotion throughout the show seemed so real, and I was so invested. I definitely give this show a 10 out of 10! I can’t wait for season two!
