Wandering into the front office, you see a small desk with a bright-red Coca-Cola shrine above it. Click Click. The blonde-haired woman’s blue eyes scan the computer screen until she looks up, meets your eyes, and smiles as she asks, “How may I help you, sweetheart?”

Mrs. King, registrar and financial secretary, will be retiring in May after working at Kimmons for the past 23 years. She contributes much, even when it is not in her job description.

“Mrs. King is so knowledgeable about Kimmons and so many other things,” Dr. Rathbun said. “I go to her with all my questions, and she’s always able to help. Mrs. King is like family, and I will miss her greatly.”

Mrs. King has enjoyed her job very much in the past 23 years.

“My favorite part of my job is the people I have worked for or trained,” Mrs. King said.

Counselor Ray, who has worked with Mrs. King for eight years, will miss going to Mrs. King for a variety of issues, like problems with Eschool.

“She always fixes things I’ve done wrong,” Mrs. Ray said. “I will miss Mrs. King’s kind heart and her willingness to help anyone with anything. She is thoughtful and always cares about others, especially in times of need.”

Counselor Cox also values Mrs. King’s skills.

“Mrs. King is an amazing resource and so helpful for someone new like myself,” Mrs. Cox said.

Secretary Fuhrman feels that she can rely on Mrs. King to always know everything that is going on in the school.

“Mrs. King’s best attributes are her vast knowledge of Kimmons and our district and how much she cares about doing things the correct way,” Mrs. Fuhrman said. “She is very helpful to other registrars in the district.”
As much as Mrs. King will miss KJH, she already has plans of what to do after retiring.

“I plan to travel with my husband, work more in my church, and do more cooking for us,” Mrs. King said. “I also plan to renovate my house.”
